Johnny Dwayne King, 57, of Waterloo, husband of Tina Turner King, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Born on January 28, 1967, in Greenwood, SC he was a son of the late John W. King, Jr. and Dorothy Blanchett King.
He was a man of many talents and passions, known for his strong work ethic and charismatic personality. Johnny attended Piedmont Technical College, where he earned his associate's degree in welding. He later owned his business, King's Custom Iron, before venturing into working with ATS at Eaton for the past eight years. He was a selfless individual who would never hesitate to assist those in need. Dwayne's love for his family was unwavering even though he was a man's man, known for his toughness and determination in both work and personal endeavors. In his free time, Dwayne enjoyed restoring his father's old Bronco and even restored a house, showcasing his diverse range of talents. He spent a lot of time maintaining his yard at the lake, that he took much pride in. His craftsmanship, intellect, and ability to tackle any project became legendary among those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Tina, children, Corey King (Larkin), Ashley Crews, Cierra Miller (Holden Farmer), and Harley Miller; sister, Stacey Hart (Bill); brothers, Tony King (Linda Barnes) and Kelly King (Amy); beloved granddaughter, Cooper King; grandchildren, Kaydence Crews and Zach Crews; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Dakota Miller.
The family will have a service on Sunday 2:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Burton officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
