Elmer Jordan (E. J.) Harvley, 75, husband of Maudlee Powell Harvley, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 9, 2012. He was born in Greenwood, SC on September 27, 1936, the son of the late Thurman Eugene Harvley and Daisy Mae Hollingsworth Harvley. He served as a firefighter in the US Air Force from 1954 � 1958, was the owner and operator of Harvley�s Scrap Metal since 1960 and was of the Baptist faith. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Maudlee, of the home to cherish his memories. He is also survived by three children, Ronnie Harvley (Kathy), Danny Harvley and Tammy Harvley, all of Greenwood. He has seven grandchildren, Sherrill Williams (Chucky), Tara Harvley, Jennifer Harvley, Ashley Harvley, Maggie Harvley, Matthew Harvley and Virginia Philbeck and thirteen precious great grandchildren. Also surviving is a cousin who was closer than a brother, Kenneth Harvley (Torina) of Greenwood; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Carl Reynolds of Swansea, SC; two aunts, Gladys Hall of Marietta, SC and Mary Hollingsworth of Greenwood; two uncles, Clyde Harvley of Greenwood and William Hollingsworth (Ethel) of Evans, GA. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Taylor Harvley.
