Obituary

Edward Graddick Stewart, Sr., 79, of 404 Eddy Road, Ninety Six, husband of Brenda Rowe Bishop Stewart, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Hoyt Hugh Stewart and Mary Palmer Stewart. Ed formerly worked with Pepsi and retired from the Index Journal. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Ed enjoyed attending the Ninety Six prayer breakfast and was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where he attended the Men's Bible Study Sunday school class.

He was twice married, first the late Sadie Rebecca Finch Stewart; and was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Blake Stewart, Sr.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are two sons, Edward G. Stewart, Jr. of Woodruff and Todd Stewart (Shannon) of Moore; a step-son, Ray Bishop, Jr. (Hae-Nan) of Los Angeles, CA; a step-daughter, Brenda B. Hill (Tim) of Ware Shoals; a sister, Mary Ann Smith of Ninety Six; a brother, Harold Stewart (Jewell) of Ninety Six; grandchildren, Grant Stewart of Woodruff, Skyler Pittman (Angela) of Boiling Springs, Ashley Campbell, Brittany Campbell, both of Moore and Jessica Bishop of Los Angeles, CA; special nephews, Rodney Smith (Lelia), and Derrick Smith (Tricia); and a brother-in-law, Larry Rowe (Nancy) of Mauldin.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Moore, SC, with the Rev. Earl Hartley and Chaplain Carroll Hutcheson officiating.

Honorary escort will be Albert Ashley, Dr. John Holman, J.W. and Becky Timms, Jean Crawford and Gary Driggers.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

The family is at the home of his sister, Mary Ann Smith, 401 Johnston Road, Ninety Six.
