Leonard Edward "Eddie" Doolittle, Jr. 69, of Ninety Six, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born on June 1, 1955, in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Leonard Edward Doolittle, Sr. and Catherine Pardue Doolittle.
Eddie was a simple man who embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a passion for the great outdoors. Whether he was farming under the sun or enjoying a day of fishing, his heart was always in nature. A proud member of the National Guard, he dedicated part of his life to serving his country with honor and pride.
Eddie found joy in the thrill of dirt derby racing and had a well-known love for hotrods that matched his zest for life. He was a man who didn't need material possessions to be happy-he was content with the simple things, like wearing his favorite hat, which eventually transformed into a well-loved visor, a true testament to his laid-back nature.
He is survived by his daughter, Misty Spelts; sister, Cathy Arnold; brothers, Danny Doolittle (Debra), Wayne Doolittle, Allen Doolittle, and Jeff Doolittle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eddie's funeral expense at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory c/o Eddie Doolittle, PO Box 777, Greenwood, SC 29648.
