Eddie Dearl Johnson, 79, formerly of 405 Morehead Street, Joanna, widower of Alice Lee Bryant Gault Johnson, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 in Durham, NC. Born in Newberry, he was a son of the late Clarence L. and Maggie Banks Johnson. He was retired from Daniel Construction Company, was an avid sportsman and a member of Joanna Church of God. Surviving are three stepchildren, Sally Blease of Joanna, Bobby Gault of Gray Court and Roger Gault of Cross Anchor; brothers, Keith Johnson and his wife, Juanita, of Clinton, Bobby Johnson and his wife, Bonnie, of Woodruff and Jimmy Johnson of Kinards; special sister-in-law and caregiver, Betty E. Johnson of Trenton; eight grandchildren; a number of step grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ruth Kelley; his son, Mack D. Johnson and brothers, Calvin L. Johnson, Ernest E. Johnson and Jerry R. Johnson.
