Obituary
Eddie Lewis Lawton, Jr., 80, of Greenwood, beloved husband of Drenda Thompson Lawton, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Eddie Lewis Lawton, Sr., and Marion Davis Lawton. Eddie played with Post 20 Baseball Team when they won the World Series in 1957. He loved the Clemson Tigers and was a wonderful husband and best father any child could ask for. He had a strong Christian faith, always read his bible and encouraged his children to treat people like Jesus would.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Virginia Lawton Du Bois of Greenwood and Chad Edward Lawton (Barbara) of Brandon, FL; two sisters, Mary Hilley and Marie Goldman, both of Ninety Six; five grandchildren; and a great grandson, William Lewis Howell.
