Edna Burden Edwards, 88, of 4 Blake Road, Ninety Six, widow of Thomas Franklin Edwards, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at NHC Health Care Center.
Born in Calhoun Falls, she was a daughter of the late James Otha Burden, Sr. and Edith Adele Boggs Burden. She was retired from Monsanto and was a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher in The Granny Davis Class.
Surviving are her daughter, Jan McCutcheon (Chan) of the home; her son, Tommy Edwards (Teri) of Aiken; sisters, Margie Bishop (Ronald) and Ida Allison, both of Ninety Six, Bell Morris of Newberry, Jean Spangler (Bill) of Sacramento, CA and Brenda Gilliland of Clinton; brother, Jerry Burden (Sandra) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Leah Burton (Derrick) of Anderson and Lindsey Pesca (Paul) of Jacksonville, FL and great grandchildren, Austin Burton and Dylan Burton, both of Anderson.
Services will be at 12 noon on Monday at Cambridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Smyth officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Coot Henderson, Mickey Goodman, Johnny Rhodes, Keith Bishop, Kevin Bishop and Kyle Burden.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Edwards' caregivers, Helen Hawkins, Martha Moon and Jean Blackwell.
The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
