Edward E. "Doc" McMillan, 81, of 530 Circle Drive, widower of Sara Christine Lipsey McMillan, died at his home on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Union, he was a son of the late Frank and Rebecca Walker McMillan. He retired from Greenwood Mills, Chalmers Plant, after more than 40 years of service, served in the SC National Guard and was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Surviving are his children, Suzette Bullington (Danny) of Lizella, GA, Chris McMillan (Sheila) and Angie King (Bill), all of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jennifer Ferqueron (Neal) of Greenwood, Nichole Hinton (Tre) of Ninety Six and Tamara King, of Greenwood, Jason Dodson, R. C. and Nichole Raines, all of Ware Shoals; great grandchildren, Hunter, Brianna and Makenna Ferqueron, Bailee and Ryan Bishop, Devan and Ava Leigh Burdette, Layla and Jaxon Dodson, Ryver and Rayden Raines.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Russell Medlock, Ted Cantrell, Robert Blizzard, Jeff Smallwood, David Sweatt, Ryan Bishop and Ray Thomasson.
Honorary escort will be Donna Bledsoe, Chris Bledsoe, Marvin and Virginia Taylor, Carolyn Cantrell, Shirley Fooshe, Charles Kingsmore, Glenn Kingsmore, Kathy and Eddie Fain, Randy and Cindy Miles, Sue Fortner, Kim Colley, Pat Hyatt along with Ashley Walker, Patricia Gilchrist, Dr. Ashley Harte and Dr. Nancy Hart Wicker, who the family is very grateful to for their loving care of Mr. McMillan through HospiceCare of the Piedmont.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
