Edward "Ed" Ernest Wilson, Sr., 91, of Greenwood, husband of Helen Joanne Perkins Wilson, died Monday, July 18, 2016 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Bamberg County, he was a son of the late George Sebron and Elizabeth Berry Wilson. Ed was retired from Utica Tool Company and a member of Emerald Baptist Church, where he was very active in many capacities. He was US Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 20.
He was preceded in death by nine of his brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, of the home; three children, Joan Bourne (Gregg), of North, SC, Edward E. Wilson, Jr. (Pam), of Greenwood, and Rick Wilson (Patsy), of Waterloo; brothers, Bennie Wilson (Wilma) and James Wilson, both of Bamberg, SC; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chad Charles officiating. Burial with military rites, will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Cole Adcock, Damien Sumerel, Joe Clary, Mike Holbert, Gene Platt, Jerry Arnold, and Tim Spondike.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.
