Effie Gooch Dorn Callaway, 78, of 818 Highway 185 S, Donalds, widow of James E. Callaway, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Oglethorpe County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Verlin and Flury Helton Gooch. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club and was a former member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Surviving is her daughter, Deborah Ann McLaughlin (Paul); her son, Michael Anthony Dorn (Beverly Ann); stepson, Jimmy Callaway and a brother, Joe Gooch, all of Greenwood; friend and former spouse, Leonard Dorn, Jr.; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
