Frances Elaine Hurt Hughes, 76, of 152 Kimberly Lane, widow of Richard Larry Hughes, died Monday, October 2, 2017.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Earl and Ruth Frances Satcher Hurt. Elaine was the owner of Larry Hughes Construction Company and Southside Mini Storage. She was an active member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church and the L.A.D.Y.S. Class.
Surviving is her daughter, Kitty Coker and her husband, Chris, of Greenwood and two sisters, Linda Lucas and her husband, Phil, of Greenwood and Edna Earle Davis and her husband, Ernie, of Ellijay, GA. Elaine's daily life revolved around her precious grandchildren, Ashton Larry Coker and RuthAnna Elaini Coker.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Hurt Hall.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rice Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Bassett, Kevin Farren, Taylor Stokes, Jerry Moore, Rob Bozicevich, Keith Hughes, Bernie Power and John C. "J.C." Cannon.
Honorary escort will be members of the L.A.D.Y.S. Class of Rice Memorial Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
The family is at the home of Kitty and Chris Coker, 108 Applegate Court.
