Elaine Hope Worthington, 85, of 5027 Highway 25 South, wife of William Brabham Worthington, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Union, she was a daughter of the late James Fred and Katie Lee Inman Hope. She was employed by Greenwood School District 50 for 46 years, of which the last 28 years were spent as a teacher's aide at Woodfields Elementary School. Elaine was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her husband of the home; her son, David Worthington (Donna) of Greenwood; a grandchild and a great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Maxie Hope.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carol Peppers Wray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to the Rehoboth United Methodist Church cemetery fund, 1808 Callison Highway, Greenwood, SC 29646.
