Obituary
Opal Elane Smart Brown, 75, of 75 Smiths Village Road, Waterloo, wife of Calvin Ray Brown, passed away February 6, 2021.
Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Joe Thomas and Mozell Godfrey Smart. She retired from Piggly Wiggly and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. Elane loved bird watching, flowers, her coin collection, her fur pomeranian babies, and most of all her family. She was the biggest Clemson and New England Patriots fan.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Calvin of the home are her children, Teresa Ethridge of Greenwood, Randy Rickett (Sheila) of Taylors, and Toni Rickett Scarboro of Greenwood; brothers, Alfred Smart of Spartanburg and Chris Smart of Greenwood; grandchildren, Krystal Svenningsen, Hollie Stone (Grant), Candi Collins, Charlie Rickett, T.J. Scarboro (Lynda) and Brandon Scarboro; nephew, Joel Barrot Smart; and eight great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at the home.
