Obituary
Elgin "Van" Van Meter, 90, of 1110 Marshall Road, husband of Elizabeth Grant Van Meter, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Columbus, OH, he was the son of the late William Stuart Van Meter and Mary Louise Elgin Van Meter. Van was a graduate from Ohio State class of 1949 where he received his bachelor's degree. He was a metallurgical engineer where he retired from U. S. Steel and A. K. Steel. Van was a member of The Church of the Resurrection, Episcopal.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Ann Rudeen (Scott) of Irving, TX, Carol Mapes of Flower Mound, TX and Jan Madigan of Avon Lake, OH; eight grandchildren, Alison Enright (Mitch), Matt Rudeen, Julie Rudeen, Sara Rudeen, Todd Mapes, Emily Madigan, Grant Madigan and John Madigan; and two great grandchildren, Kennedy Enright and Owen Enright.
