Obituary

Elizabeth Givens Scott, 95, widow of Paul Edward Scott, died peacefully on
Thursday, May 18, 2017 at NHC Healthcare Center.

Born in Umatilla, FL, she was the daughter of Roger W. and Nell Cole Givens. She spent most of her adult life in Tennessee before moving to Greenwood in 1982 when her husband retired from Union Carbide, in Oak Ridge, TN.

Before her marriage in 1942, she attended Milligan College in Johnson City, TN for three years majoring in Home Economies. She was a very accomplished seamstress deriving much joy from making beautiful clothes for her two granddaughters. She was a homemaker and a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, the Hut Sunday School Class and Circle 4.

Surviving are her daughter, Paula Scott Taylor and son-in-law, Harold A. Taylor of Greenwood; granddaughters Allison Taylor Boulware and husband, David of Florence, SC and Melissa Taylor Bailey and husband, Mark of Nashville, TN; and three great granddaughters.

She was predeceased by her brother, Cmdr. Robert W. Givens, and sister, Mary G. Nash.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time.

It is respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, 211 N. Main Street, Greenwood, SC 29646.
