Elsie Lois Ashley 81, of 308 Alabama Ave., widow of Raymond Ashley died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Claudis Pat' and Nina Belle Autry. Mrs. Ashley retired from Greenwood Mills Durst Plant and formerly worked in the cafeteria at Northside Jr. High School. She was a member of Real Life Ministries. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhetta A. Austin. Surviving are a daughter Patricia A. Rice of Greenwood; two sisters, Ann Boussum of St. Louis, MO and Mary Jean Kanaly of AL; one granddaughter Yvonne Brown; and one great grandson Caleb Lomax. Memorials may be made to Hospice House, 408 W Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646. The family is at the home of her daughter, 102 Short Street, Brookside. '
