Elvin Jerry Catoe, 80, of 33457 Highway 76 East, Joanna, husband of Alice King Catoe, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at his home. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late John P. and Hattie Moody Catoe. He was retired from Greenwood Mills, Joanna Plant, and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of ReaLife Ministries, Greenwood. Surviving is his wife of the home; his daughter, Rita Evans and her husband, Skeeter, of Powdersville; his son, Rev. Jerry Catoe and his wife, Ann, of Greenwood; a sister, Faye Morris of Joanna; four grandchildren, Jennifer King, Brian Evans, Jeremy Catoe and Dustin Catoe and three great grandchildren, Evan, Ethan and Erin King. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at ReaLife Ministries with the Revs. Jason McCary, Mac Jones, Larry Smith and Tim Ellenberg officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Pinelawn Memory Gardens, Clinton. Pallbearers will be Brian Evans, Jeremy Catoe, Dustin Catoe, Scott King, Jack Garron and Don Thomas. The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
