Obituary

Emma Ruth Gunnells Loftis, 93, formerly of 117 Clark Avenue, widow of Grady C. Loftis, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late James Frank and Eunice Cole Gunnells. She was retired from Greenwood Mills and was a member of Kingdom Hall – Jehovah's Witness.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy Loftis of Abbeville, Billy Loftis (Ann) of Greenwood, Bobby Loftis (Kathy) of Ware Shoals, Linda Abramson (Murray) of Williamston and Shirley Bell of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eva Page, Katie Bell Hall and Ida Trimnal; her brothers, Walter Gunnells, JB Gunnells, James Gunnells and Benjamin Gunnells; two grandsons, Jimmy Loftis, Jr. and Doug Loftis and a great grandson, Joey Todd.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oakbrook Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
