Emma Gray McDowell, 14-year-old beloved daughter of Erin Rucker and Mark McDowell passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 surrounded by her family and medical team.

Born in Greenwood on July 9, 2004, she fought a long battle with Zellweger Syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. Emma was the light and heart in her parent's worlds.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Tolbert McDowell; and great grandparents, Thurman & Betty Jean Ashley Rucker and Jack & Harvaline McClellan.

Surviving in addition to her parents of Greenwood are a brother, Colby Thomas Turner; a sister Chloe Isabella McDowell; aunts, Allison Rucker Young, Kristen Rucker Greek (Marty) and Grace McDowell; uncles, Cade Frith (Kathryn), Max and Michael McDowell; and grandparents, Delilah McDowell, Cynthia McClellan and Mike Rucker.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 12-1 pm.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Chaplin Rick Hendricks officiating to celebrate Emma's precious life. We were so blessed to call her ours for 14 WONDERFUL years.
