Ernest Dean "SKEET" Gunter, Sr., 59, of 647 Davis Street, husband of Belinda Stennett Gunter, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at his home.

Born in Greenwood, he was the son of Barbara Able Prince and the late Wilbur Dean Gunter. He was employed with Justus Builders and Weeks Remodeling. He was a US Army veteran. Skeet loved his children and grandchildren but in his spare time he loved to work in his yard and tend to his animals.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home and his mother and stepfather, Jimmy Steadman, of Greenwood are his children, Dean Gunter (Kristen) of Easley, Tim Gunter (Courtney), James Gunter (Skyler), and Brandey Gunter; two sisters, Patricia Stewart (Rab) and Linda Duffie (Joe), all of Greenwood; grandchildren, Sydnie Gunter, Sawyer Gunter, and Aiden Laney; and special two legged friend "Duck" the duck.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Dean Gunter; daughter, Amanda Gunter; one brother; and two sisters.

A private service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor E.J. Speed and Mr. Ray Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Steven Swigert, Matthew Shirley, Van Weeks, Phillip Witt, Tim Roach, and Andrew Moseley.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
