Ernest Earl Hurt of 602 Bucklevel Road, widower of Ruth Satcher Hurt died Thursday, January 07, 2010 at Hospice House. Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Joel Ernest and Hassie Eidson Hurt. Earl was a retired dairy and beef farmer and a producer for Pet Milk Company. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Surviving are four daughters: Elaine Hughes, Barbara Hall and husband Glenn and Linda Lucas and husband Phil, all of Greenwood and Edna Earle Davis and husband Ernie of Dawsonville, GA; three sisters: Doris Boatwright of Aiken, Bobbie Enlow and June Brown, both of Saluda; two brothers, Irvin Hurt of Greenwood and Tom Hurt of Saluda; six granddaughters: Cindy Stokes, Wendy Moore, Kitty Coker, Lori Bassett, Leslie Lucas and Emilee Bozicevich; and six great grandchildren: John and Reid Stokes, Ashton and RuthAnna Coker and Lucas and Ella Bassett. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Larry Hughes, two sisters, Clotyse Gunnells and Clorine Stroud and by five brothers: Dewey Hurt, Ollie Hurt, Edison Hurt, Harold Hurt and Holmes Hurt. Pallbearers will be Chris Coker, Taylor Stokes, Jerry Moore, Rob Bozicevich, Jonathan Bassett and Kevin Farren. The family is at their respective homes.
