Obituary

Ernest Earl Hollingsworth, Jr. 84, son of the late Ernest Earl Hollingsworth, Sr. and Lucia Culbertson Hollingsworth, of 1822 Highway 246 North, Stoney Point, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his home of natural causes. Born and raised in the Greenwood, Ware Shoals and surrounding areas. Ernest worked for A. R. Wood and Davis & Floyd before retiring. He had several professions by trade but left his mark as a professional carpenter and was known for his beautiful craftsmanship in the Harley Chapel. Ernest was known for his nicknames, JR. and Bug, his overalls and railroad engineer hat that he always wore. He was known through younger years as a member of the country music band of Greenwood named the �Stoney Point Clodhoppers�. His love of music and song continued throughout his life. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Chad and Timothy Hollingsworth; a sister, Margaret Hughes; and his wife, Dot Briggs Hollingsworth. Surviving are a son, Ernest Hank Hollingsworth of Bradley; daughters, Earline Pressley (Michael) of Greenwood and Jenia Johnson (Bryan) of Bradley; twelve grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and former wife Virginia Lewis Hollingsworth. Pallbearers will be Jason Hollingsworth, Brent Hollingsworth, Jimmy Hollingsworth, Adam Pressley, Eric Pressley and Tyler Hollingsworth. The family is at the home of his daughter, Earline Pressley, 112 Quarry Road, Greenwood.
