Essie Duckett Butler, 86, of 3501 Old Highway 246 South, widow of William Murray �Bill� Butler died Monday, July 14, 2014 at Hospice House. Born in Walhalla, SC on December 23, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Walter Dixon Duckett and Lovie Mary Ethel Cornett Duckett. Essie retired from Greenwood Mills - Adams Plant and was a self employed seamstress. She was a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church where she served many years as a Sunday school teacher for the youth and was in the choir. Surviving are a daughter, Shelvie Ann Parris (Eddie) of Ninety Six; a son, William Keith Butler (Beth), of Ninety Six; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters. Pallbearers will be Doug Hastings, Matthew Parris, Michael Parris, Donnie Parris, David Butler and Rowan Hilliard. Honorary escort will be Rev. and Mrs. Dan Smyth and any members of the Cambridge United Methodist Church family who would like to serve. Memorials may be sent to a charity of one�s choice. The family will be at the home of Shelvie Parris, 3423 Hwy 246 South, Ninety Six.
