Ethelyn Haywood Crawford, 93, of 105 Cothran Drive, widow of Russell Louis Crawford, to whom she was married for 75 years, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her home. Born in Taylor County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Rosebud Smith Haywood. She was a graduate of the Georgia-Alabama Business School, Macon, GA and retired as Payroll Benefits Supervisor with Greenwood School District 50. Following her retirement, she enjoyed spending her time reading, traveling, cooking, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ethelyn was a member of North Side Baptist Church and the Good News Sunday School Class. Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Crawford of Summerville, Cindy Carlson (Ted) of Savannah, GA and Lauren Croxton of Swansea; a sister, Mervin Montgomery of Springfield, IL; two brothers, Chapman Smith Haywood of Huntsville, AL and Dr. Herbert Carlton Haywood of Brentwood, TN; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
