Evelyn Smith Dodgen, 89, of 2720 Highway 25 S, widow of Hilton Lafayette Dodgen, Sr. died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at NHC of Greenwood.
Born in Whitehall, GA., she was a daughter of the late Grover L. and Eula Mae Seagraves Smith. Hilton and Evelyn were married on October 14, 1944 and together they owned and operated Rainbo Antiques for 55 years. Mrs. Evelyn was a member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Randy Dodgen (Judy), Karen Price, Hilton L. "Hilty" Dodgen, Jr. (Kathy), and Daryl "Duck" Dodgen (Mary Seales), all of Greenwood; a brother, L.C. Smith (Betty) of Ruston, LA; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Teresa Eakin Dodgen and her sister, Katherine Smith Davis.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Oakbrook Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum with the Rev. Randy Ouzts and Rev. Bryant Sims officiating.
Pallbearers will be Harry Metts, Geno Thomas, Tony Davis, John Darley, Billy Wall, Eddie Strother, Jody Addison, Chase Timmerman, and Tanner Leopard.
The family will receive friends following the service at the chapel mausoleum.
