Evelyn Lillie Sheriff Messer, 76, of 724 Roseland Drive, wife of Herbert Messer, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Ware Shoals, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Artie Mae Gosnell Sheriff. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is her husband of the home; two sons, Robert L. Townsend (Bobbie) and Curtis Townsend (Duranda), both of Hodges; a sister, Frances Bryant of Liberty; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Eugene Sheriff.
