Forrest Ray Alexander, 77, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at his residence at Ashley Square Assisted Living.

Born on October 19, 1948, in Rutherford County, North Carolina, Forrest was the son of the late Elbert Ray and Virginia Turner Alexander. He graduated from Chase High School in 1967 and served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1971, including service in Vietnam. He was a proud Vietnam veteran.

Following his military service, Forrest began a 31-year career with Duke Energy as a lineman. In 1986, he moved to Greenwood, where he made his home.

Forrest enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly working in his yard and tending to his garden. He was skilled at building and fixing things and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and trying his luck with scratch-off lottery tickets. Forrest will be remembered as a devoted father and friend whose quick wit and memorable personality left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

He is survived by his four children, Stacy Ray Alexander (Britni), Lerryn Grindell (Kevin), Jamie Moore (Tripp), and Dale Alexander (Emily); six grandchildren, Nicholas Brown, Jacob Brown, Olivia Grindell, Lindy Alexander, Luke Alexander, and Hannah Alexander; four great-grandchildren, Josiah Couch, Maleighna Brown, Eleanor Brown, and Madilyn Brown; and his brother, Jackie Alexander, plus many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Haigler and Ann Russ, and his brother, Kenneth Alexander.

Forrest will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
