Frances Lomax Clary, 88, widow of Nigel Clary passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023, at her son, Jerry's home.
Born on March 6, 1935, in Monroe, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Jefferson Lomax and Sara Collins Lomax. Frances devoted over 20 years of her life working with Greenwood Mills. She was a loving mother, grandmother, had a great love for animals, and a passion for exploring new places, especially when accompanied by her beloved sisters and daughters. She was member of the Sandridge Baptist Church.
Whether it was her warm smile, kind-hearted nature, or gentle spirit, Frances had the ability to win over everyone she crossed paths with. Her genuine care for others left a lasting impact on all who knew her, and she will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Clary; daughter-in-law, Emma Clary and siblings: Jeanette Kennedy, Rachel Massey, Nina Turner, Donald Lomax and Dennis Lomax.
Surviving are her children: William Clary, Jerry Clary, Angie Farmer, Pam White (Tony), Carmie Edwards and Jimmy Clary; siblings: Linda Pound, Joyce Horne, Faye Horne, James Lomax, and Ray Lomax; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on October 13, 2023, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Sprouse and Rev. Marty Dorn officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm.
