Frances Scott Davis was the first born child and only daughter to the parents of Enos and Emma Scott on October 12, 1917. On February 21, 1942 she married the love of her life, James Rufus Davis. They were married for 54 years before he passed away on September 4, 1996. She joined him on December 9, 2013, his 96th birthday. She was a superb seamstress, crafter, cook, quilter, and twister of yarn! She grew up during the Great Depression and was a survivor, a trait she has instilled in each of her three children, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was fondly known by her family as "G ". Her legacy will live on each day through the lives of her family. She is survived by three children, Sarah English of Snellville, GA; Rev. Gary D. Davis and wife, Sondra, of Ninety Six; and Connie Banks and husband Kenneth A. Banks of Spartanburg. Grandchilden: James Roberts and wife Maree of Snellville, GA; Shelby Rinkle and husband, John of Valdosta, GA; Michael G. Davis and wife, Cathi of Oswego, NY; Kevin D. Davis and wife, Christie of Louisa, VA; Joseph J. Davis and wife, Amelia of Greensburg, PA; Erin B. Davis and husband, Brandon of Spartanburg; and Nicholas A. Banks of Clemson. Great-grandchildren: Kathryn Baker and husband, Ray; Scott Roberts, Gavin Davis, Elizabeth Roberts, Isabell Davis, Cole Davis, Lacy Davis, Banks Davis, Caleb Davis, Logan Davis and Alexis Davis; as well as her brother, James Norris Scott and his wife, Imogene of Spartanburg. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins. "G " was preceded in death by a grandson, David W. Roberts of Ninety Six on August 8, 1996. Her brothers, Hastings, Albert, Herman, and Roy Scott also preceded her in death. Her grandsons, grandsons-in-law and great-grandsons are honored to serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Scott, Barry Baker, Dr. Fran Kunda, Dr. Bill Sawyer, the staff of the Saluda Nursing Home and her dear friends, Irene Riddle, Leonard and Pat Smith, Brenda and Richard Tucker, and Mary Berry. Please join the family on Saturday, December 14th at Good Hope Baptist Church as they celebrate the life of �G� beginning with visitation from noon until 1 PM. Services, under the direction of Rev. Jeremy Beauford and Rev. Johnny McDaniel, will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family members are at their respective homes. The family request that flowers be omitted.
