Francis McDowell Johnson, 91, of 114 Carriage Court, Greenwood, widow of Robert L. Johnson, Sr., died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at her home.

Born in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Gladys Wilson McDowell. Francis was a graduate of Spartanburg College and retired from Spartanburg Water Works. In 2004 she moved to Greenwood and loved to play golf, especially at her son's course Par Three West. Francis was a devout Christian and member of South Main Street Church where she taught Sunday school there and also at Roebuck Baptist Church for over 70 years.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Faye Johnson.

Surviving are two sons, Robert L. Johnson, Jr., of Greenwood and Joseph Scott Johnson of Kinards; three granddaughters, Tonia J. Thomas (Jeffery), Heather J. Seigler, Jamie J. Rachels; three great grandchildren, Daniel Seigler, Ethan Rachels and Braden Rachels; and a great-great grandchild, Brantley Seigler.

A memorial service will be held at twelve o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday at Par Three West, on hole number four, green with the Dr. Toby Frost officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service at her home, 114 Carriage Court, Greenwood from ten to eleven o'clock in the morning.
