Franklin A. Broome, 72, of 109 White Oak Avenue, husband of Lannette Taylor Broome, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at his home. Born in Georgia, he was a son of the late James F. and Elizabeth Darnell Broome. He was formerly employed by Eaton and retired from Greenwood Mills. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a volunteer with the Highway 34 Volunteer Fire Department. He was of the Methodist faith. Surviving is his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Anthony Manley of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Adam Stewart, Jamey Stewart, CC Manley and Katelynne Manley. The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, 101 Frances Street, Fairforest Subdivision. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Highway 34 Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 71, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
