Fred S. Herrick, Sr. 84, of 117 Morgan Avenue, Greenwood, husband of Joyce Janner Herrick, died Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Miami Beach, FL, he was the son of the late John Edson Herrick and Margaret Mayo Herrick. Fred was a U. S. Coast Guard veteran and was a former mechanic at Firestone. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a son, John Edson Herrick.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Fred Herrick, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Alexis Herrick-Banks.

Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ben Hjalmer officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home from 1-1:45 pm.
