Fred Dominick Lowe, 87, of 193 Westwood Rd. Country Meadows, husband of Elizabeth Hagood Lowe went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Willie Lee Lowe and Mallie Ashley Lowe. Mr. Lowe was an US Army veteran of WWII and past member of the Honea Path Lions Club. He was a Building Contractor for over 50 years and the owner of Fred Lowe Builders. He was an active member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church and the Open Door Sunday school class. Mr. Lowe was an avid NASCAR fan, loved camping, gardening and cooking. His hobby was his job as a master cabinet maker and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eugenia Lowe, and six brothers, Foist, Robert, Horace, Harris, Olive and Winston Lowe. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a son Lee (Kelley) Lowe of Greenwood; two daughters Fredda (Steve) McWhorter of Honea Path and Cheryl (Billy) Baer of Greenwood; two step children Robert (Debi) Kwist and Danny Kwist both of Greenwood; eight grandchildren Jade Stalnaker, Marcus McWhorter, Kristi McWhorter, Kayla Kwist, Angela Kwist, Michael Lowe, Tyler Lowe and Dustin Kwist; three great grandchildren Alivia, Adrienne and Rhiley McWhorter; and many special nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Pallbearers will be grandsons Michael and Tyler Lowe, Marcus McWhorter, Jade Stalnaker, Dustin Kwist and neighbor, Mark Atkinson. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Open Door Sunday school class and Dr. John Holman. Memorials may be made to Rice Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 1975 Hwy 72 West, Greenwood, SC 29649. The family is at the home.
