G. B. James, Jr., 89, of 159 Orchard Park Drive and formerly of 132 James Green Acres Drive, Prosperity, husband of Evelyn Brock James, died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Hospice House, Greenwood. Born in Hephzibah, GA, he was a son of the late Green B. James, Sr. and Bertha Young James. He retired from the US Air Force, where he served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, and was the owner of James Green Acres Poultry Farm. He was a member of New Market Baptist Church, Greenwood, and a former member of Bethel Baptist Church, Prosperity. Surviving is his wife of the home; three daughters, Margaret Ann (Walter) Buffington of Jonesboro, GA, Karen (Kenny II) Anderson of Prosperity, Pam (Steve) Cornforth of Denmark; sisters, Eunice Holley and Dorothy Dickey, both of Hephzibah, GA; brothers, Lyn James of Kissimmee, AL and Clyde James (Deloris) of Vienna, VA; grandchildren, Jimmy (Carrie) Buffington of Marietta, GA, Becky (Shannon) Killgo of Gray, GA, Susan (Robert) Newton of Bessemer, AL, Joshua Livingston of Pomaria, Brigette (Patrick) Watkins and Kenny Anderson, III, all of Daytona Beach, FL, Ryan Cornforth, Jordan Smith, Taylor Cornforth and Walker Smith, all of Denmark; great grandchildren, Seth and Harley Killgo of Gray, GA, Zoe and Evie Buffington of Marietta, GA, Jackson Newton of Bessemer, AL, Kenny Anderson, IV of Washington State, Gabriel Watkins of Daytona Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by a sister, Tessie James; two brothers-in-law, Don Holley and Bo Dickey and a sister-in-law, Betty James.
