Gail Ross Weeks, 83, resident of Countryside Manor in North Carolina, widow of William "Billy" Ray Weeks, entered into God's presence on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Born on June 20, 1941, in Macon, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late George Douglas Ross and Grace Beasley Rudder. Gail was first and foremost a believer, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother with an incredible gift for nurturing those around her. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she poured her heart and soul into caring for them.
Those who knew her admired her common sense and wisdom, as well as her incredible culinary skills. Known for her delicious biscuits and gravy, coconut cake, and the much-loved lemon pie, she delighted in baking lemon pound cakes, often sharing them with family and friends during the Christmas season. Above all, she made it a priority to celebrate the special moments in her loved ones' lives, ensuring that no birthday, Christmas, or Easter went unrecognized.
Gail loved the simple pleasures of life, from taking joyous trips to the mountains, to dancing her heart out. Her everyday life was a beautiful tapestry woven with acts of kindness, gentle wisdom, and unwavering support.
A faithful member of Abney Memorial Baptist Church, Gail served with a truly caring spirit, sharing her time and talents, including her dedicated service in the nursery. She embodied a servant's heart, always giving generously, even when she had little to spare. Gail loved the Lord and always spread His word anytime she could, making her a guiding light for those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her son, William Russell Weeks (Vanda) of Greenwood; her daughter, Melody Weeks Crawford (Mike) of Summerfield, NC; grandchildren, Maggie Ward (Matt), Savannah Crawford, Russell Spenser Weeks, Carsen Ray Weeks (Jordyn), and Olivia M. Weeks; and great grandchildren, Alex Ward, Gianna Crawford, Aiden Bagwell, Bristol Weeks, Holden Weeks, and Harley Weeks.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Ross Seigler.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Brent Bennett officiating.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Countryside Manor for all of their love and care they gave to Ms. Gail while she was there.
