Garfield Augustus Bowick, Jr., 80, of 608 Carolina St., McCormick, died Friday, April 30, 2010 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood. Born in McCormick, he was the son of the late Garfield A. Bowick, Sr. and Ada Bon Bowick. He worked at Milliken for 25 years in McCormick before retiring from Strom�s Drug Store. Mr. Bowick was a member of McCormick Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a sister, Lillie Belle �Dot� Parsons of McCormick; niece Mamie Parsons of Clinton; two nephews, Chevis Parsons of Columbia and Major Lamar Parsons of El Paso TX; nieces, Barbara Self of Parksville, Peggy Beasley of Hodges, Sue Dukes of Parksville, Dorothy McManus of Columbia, and Miriam Laswell of Plum Branch; and nephew Lonnie McManus of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances McCreight Bowick; brothers Charlie Bowick and James Bowick; sisters Jessie McManus, Louise McManus, and Evelyn Dukes; and nephew Mack Parsons.
