Gary Ramsey, 91, of 356 Lyon Seigler Road, Plum Branch, widower of Odessa Willis Ramsey, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in McCormick County, he was a son of the late William Thomas and Theresa Gable Ramsey. He was retired from the SC Department of Transportation and was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Bordeaux Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Frank Monroe Ramsey (Hettie), Miriam Faye Cooper and William Alvin Ramsey (Kim); stepchildren, Linda Evans, Charlie Willis (Marie), Judy Hozey, Janice White and Jim Willis; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wilkie; grandchildren, Todd Ramsey, Tonya Ramsey, Holly Newman, Marie Ramsey, Frankey Ramsey, Angela Andrade and Alicia Cowen; great grandchildren, Sydney Ramsey, Ansley Newman, Brittany Moore, Leon Moore, Bryonna Ramsey and Anna Ramsey.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cathrine Ramsey and a son, Gary Thomas Ramsey.
Graveside services, with military rites, will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Bordeaux Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Alexander officiating.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Ramsey, Todd Ramsey, Frankey Ramsey, William Newman, Jarrod Cowen and Billy Noble.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
