Gaynell Smallwood Smith, 81 of 311 Ellenberg Avenue widow of William L. Smith, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Banks County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Henry Smallwood and Mittie Ann Wilson. Gaynell retired from Parke-Davis and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was of the Baptist faith. She was twice married first to the late Raymond Paul Fleming and was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. Surviving are four children, Linda (Jim) Sherwood of Pensacola, FL, Martin (Ann) Fleming of Hodges, Steve (Jennifer) Fleming of Edgefield and Cecil Fleming of Greenwood; a sister, Susie Roddy; a brother, William Smallwood; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice House, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646. The family is at the home.
