Rev. Harold Eugene "Gene" Davis, 78, of 301 Pinehurst Drive, husband of Rosemary Compton Davis, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Ninety Six, he was a son of the late, J.T. and Etheleen Fortner Davis. He was employed by Solutia Manufacturing and was a US Army Veteran, where he served in Vietnam. He was a member of Ninety Six Church of God and also a long time member of Faith Temple Holiness Church of Saluda, SC and was ordained by the Rev. Ed Padgett of the church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home is his son, Scott Eugene Davis of; sister, Shirley Harvley (S.W.); brother, Donnie Davis (Becky), all of Ninety Six.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Davis and Billy Ray Davis.

Service swill be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Cockrell, Rev. Dwayne Strickland, and Rev. Greg Holladay officiating. Burial, with military rites, will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Ninety Six.

Pallbearers will be Allen Fortner, Phillip Fortner, Jerry Harvley, John Davis, Ricky Dill, Jeremy Davis, and Donald Davis, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home of his sister, Shirley, 107 Circle Street, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
