Clarence �Gene� Mitchell, 69, of 511 Kathy Hill Road, husband of Elizabeth Jean �Jeanie� Smith Mitchell, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in York County, SC, he was a son of the late John Henry and Ada Belle Duncan Mitchell. He earned an Associate�s Degree at Piedmont Technical College, retired from Covidien, was formerly employed by Moore Business Forms for 30 years and was a member of Connie Maxwell Baptist Church. Gene was a U.S. Navy Veteran, EM2 �SS�, and served in the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife of the home; a son, Kenneth Wade Mitchell of Durham, NC; a daughter, Allison Michelle Waites of Ninety Six; two brothers, Ted G. Mitchell (Linda) and Henry W. Mitchell (Frankie), both of Greenwood; one grandchild, J. D. Waites of Ninety Six; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Gene Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Roy Brooks, Mike Kennemore, Jimmy Johnson, Billy Pruitt, Joe Lowery and David Hitt. Memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Baptist Church, P.O.
