Obituary

Genevieve Giacomel Miller, 91, of Troy, widow of William Miller, passed away on May 7, 2026, at her home.

Born on August 10, 1934, in McCullough, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late James Donald Reese and Sarah Maltilda Bush.

Genevieve was a woman who knew exactly what she wanted, right down to her last outfit. Her tenacious nature was matched only by her ability to connect with people, whether familiar friends or passing strangers. A natural talker, she had a gift for conversation,

She was an avid reader and could often be found lost in the pages of various books, with the Bible holding a special place in her heart as her constant companion. Her depth of knowledge and zest for life were evident in her conversations, making for many delightful evenings filled with stories and laughter. Genevieve hosted a New Year’s dinner every year. With pork, sauerkraut, and kielbasa as traditional dishes. She ensured that family and friends alike felt welcomed and loved around her table. She will be remembered for her strength and vibrant spirit.

 Surviving are her children, daughter Pamela Kelly (Robert),and son Raymond Giacomel Jr.(Debi); step children, Dennis Miller, and Lorie Copper, sister, Dorothy Miller; grandchildren, Alisha Grinus, Raymond Giacomel III, Christina Moore, Brian Giacomel, Ryan Lann, Richard Lann, and Lindsey Copper; twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. 

Twice married first to the late Raymond Giacomel Sr. then to  William Miller, In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalynne Giacomel; step sons, Vincent Miller, and John Miller, a brother, Donald James Reese; granddaughter, Kimberly Copper; twin grandsons, Steve Proskin, Scott Proskin and grandson Robert August Kelly and a great grandson Cody Lane Grinus.
