George Pressley Deale, 77, of 146 Highland Drive, Greenwood, husband of Latricia Minor Deale died Monday, December 26, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Troy, he was a son of George Pressley Deale, Sr. and Nona Bosdell Gable. George was well known for being an insurance agent and attended New Market Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory "Todd" Deale; a granddaughter, Gwendolyn April Deale; two brothers, Johnny Gable and Jerry Gable; and a step daughter, Angie Starnes.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a son, Tony Deale of McCormick; a granddaughter, Sabrina Deale Broome (Mark); a great grandson, Mason, both of Jefferson, GA; a step-daughter, Lynn Turner of Ninety Six; a step-grandson, Andy Crosby (Deirdre); a step-great granddaughter, Anna both of Greenwood; two brothers, Claude Gable, Jr. (Marie) of Greenwood and Terry Gable (Maxine) of McCormick; a sister, Marie Marshall (Joe) of Greenwood; two nephews, Joe Minor and Bill Minor, both of Ninety Six; and honorary in-laws, Harold Minor (Faye) and JoAnn Elchelberger (Gerald) both of Ninety Six.

Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday at New Market Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Sprouse and Rev. Chad Payne officiating. Burial will be in Bold Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Griffin, Hilton Dodgen, Jr., Joe Minor, Andy Crosby, Tracy Rogers, Harry Metts and Benji Minor.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm.
