George L. Gary, Sr., 72, of 226 Briggs Avenue, husband of Kathie Foster Gary, died Friday, October 16, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Elbert County, GA, he was a son of the late George Amos and Mary Hazel Loyd Gary. He was retired from the Service Department of Greenwood Mills and retired as a sergeant from the US Army in 1996 with service in the SC National Guard 111th Signal Battalion. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of the home; a daughter, Suzan Sessions and her husband, Tim or �Meathead�, of Waterloo; a son, Les Gary and his wife, Tammy, of Greenwood; a special sister, Jeanette Knight of Greenville; a brother, Paul Edward Gary and his wife, Louise, of Elberton, GA; six grandchildren, Sgt. Jeremy Gary and his wife, Julie, Nicole Laughlin, PFC Nicholas Laughlin, Gina Grogan and her husband, Trey, Noel Laughlin and her fianc�, Jamie Saxon and Abby Sessions; and eight great grandchildren.
