Dr. George T. Miller, Jr., 70, of 139 Creek Road East, husband of Nancy Stein Miller, died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Washington, DC, he was a son of the late George T. Miller, Sr. and Lillian Wallace Smith. He received his Medical Doctorate from the Medical College of Georgia and was an anesthesiologist with Self Regional Medical Center. He served as a captain in the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Medical Association and enjoyed sailing, hiking and chess. He was an Eagle Scout and was active in the support of Scouting. Dr. Miller was an active member of The Church of the Resurrection, Episcopal, where he served twice on the Vestry, was a Eucharist minister and a lector. He was twice married, first to the late Anne Baker Miller. Surviving is his wife; a daughter, Catherine Miller Robbins and her husband, Leonard, of Gaylordsville, CT; a son, George T. Miller, III and his wife, Jennie, of Greenwood; a stepson, Mark Sypher and his wife, Sahar Osman-Sypher, of Centreville, VA; a brother, Howard Miller and his wife, Donna, of Stone Mountain, GA; three grandchildren, Annie Robbins, Lauren Miller and Andrew Miller.
