Georgia Wooten Smith, 94, formerly of 1819 Highway 10, widow of Furman Ivy Smith, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 23, 2016 at NHC Health Care Center.
Born in Red Bank, SC, she was a daughter of the late Rev. I. L. and Evie Moon Wooten. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mrs. Smith was a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Cheerful Workers Sunday School Class and the kitchen band, The Do-Likes, where she played the keyboard. She always loved traveling, camping and singing for the Lord.
Surviving are her sons, Clem Smith (Nancy) of Bradley and Richard Smith (Angela) of Abbeville; grandchildren, Chris Smith of Bradley and Ben Smith of Greenwood; great granddaughter, Addy Corley of Bradley and her caretaker and best friend, Mary Irvin of Greenwood.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Kyzer and Annie Mae Wooten; her brother, Bill Wooten; granddaughter, Heather Smith and great grandson, Ladson Corley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barrett Alewine officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ben Smith, Chris Smith, Jeff Broome and Frank White.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Family members are at their respective homes.
