Gertrude Haff Rowland, 78, of 160 Highland Drive, Greenwood, SC, was reunited with the love of her life, David Peter Rowland, on Thursday, October 30, 2008. Born in New York, NY, she was a daughter of the late Carroll Barse and Gertrude Patterson Haff of Pelham, NY. She was a 1952 graduate of Smith College, where she received a B.A. degree in Music. Mrs. Rowland was an accomplished pianist and composer and a stay at home mom, following her husband to numerous countries during his career with General Motors. She was raised a member of Christ Church, Pelham Manor, NY and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenwood. Surviving are five children, Kathleen Rowland Swan of Redmond, WA, Elizabeth R. Bazzano of Norfolk, CT, Patience Rowland Anderson of East Hampton, CT, Peter C. Rowland of the home and Heather Marie Rowland of Redmont, WA; five grandchildren, Beth Weitzel, Michael Stadlander, Christopher Byram, Michaela Rowland and Angelique Rowland. �I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.� 2 Timothy 4:7
