Virginia "Ginnie" Hall Hammond, 86, of Mount Pleasant, widow of R. C. Pete Hammond, died Friday, June 10, 2016 at Sandpiper Nursing and Rehab.
Born in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Asa and Nucola Brown Hall. Ginnie retired from The Vogue, enjoyed golfing and was a talented seamstress. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church where she was in the Mason Sunday school class.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her son, Larry Joseph Hammond.
Surviving are daughter, Kay Drummond and husband, Sam, of Mount Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Main Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Thrailkill officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be John Dupree, Jeff Sanford, Scott Crosby, Jeremy Hadley, Dan Nance and Richard "Dek" Nance.
Honorary escort will be the members of the Mason Sunday school Class.
The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 1 to 2 pm.
