Gladys McGaha Brooks, 87, formerly of Ware Shoals, widow of Robert F. Brooks, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at NHC Health Care of Greenwood. Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Annie Jane M. McGaha. She retired from Reigel Textiles after 30 years of service and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Hodges. Surviving is her son, Frank Brooks and his wife, Kelly, of Hodges; four sisters, Rachel Reid of Hodges, Vivian Smith of Honea Path, Shelby Evanski of Illinois and Betty Spence of Mt. Juliet, TN; three grandchildren, Joseph Brooks (Melinda), Zac Brooks and Noah Brooks and a great granddaughter, Josey Brooks.
