Obituary
Gregg Allen McGovern, 61, of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, September 4,2024 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Gregg was born on June 10, 1963, in Newport, KY. He was a son of the late Robert "Bob" James McGovern and Judith Ann Sorrell McGovern. He was a dedicated maintenance worker in the medical supplies manufacturing industry at Cardinal Health for two decades, where his colleagues became more than just coworkers – they became his cherished extended family. Gregg had a deep love for the outdoors, often finding joy in backpacking, hiking and enjoying the peacefulness of the beach. His passion for sports was only rivaled by his love for grilling on weekends, a pastime he relished with his favorite beverage, Budweiser, in hand.
He is survived by his brothers, Barry McGovern (Katherine), Jimmy McGovern (Tracie), and Bobby McGovern (Steve) and nieces and nephews, Keller, Britney, Patrick and Meg McGovern.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Dusty McGovern.
Per Gregg's request, no funeral services will be held.
