Gwendolyn Ernestine Loftis McMahan, 81, of 111 Porter Ct, Hodges, wife of Lawt McMahan, died Monday, July 4, 2016 at Hospice House.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Idelle Church Loftis. She was employed by Greenwood Mills, Harris Plant for 37 years, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. McMahan was a member of Harris Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She loved her church and church family and was always willing to "step up" when others were in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Craig McMahan; and a sister, Jackie Wilson.
Surviving are her husband, of the home; two sons, Blake McMahan (Yvette) of Greenwood and Russ McMahan (Juvena) of Hodges; a daughter-in-law, Mott McMahan of Raleigh, NC; a brother, Sam Loftis of Monroe, LA; two sisters, Connie Turner (Frank) of Anderson and Diana Fleming (David) of Royston, GA; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Harris officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 5 pm.
